Thanks to a leaked official memo, we can surely confirm that the new 2017 Chevrolet Beat will get launched in the 3rd week of July. The leaked memo also confirms that media drives are planned for 25-26th May.
The new Beat is a very important product for Chevrolet. They recently closed operations at their Halol (Gujarat) plant and overall sales have been extremely low. The new Beat will pave the way for increased market share and other new products like the Essentia (Beat sedan) and Activ (Beat crossover)
Although not an entirely new product, the new Beat gets a host of changes, both on the outside and inside. This includes a new face up-front that looks mature and bold and tweaks to the rear end as well. There will be a lot of changes on the inside including an all-new MyLink 2 infotainment system, two-tone colour scheme, matte silver centre console, chrome garnish around the HVAC vents, semi-digital instrument cluster etc.
We don’t think the company will do radical changes to the power plants which include a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.0-litre diesel. Both units will continue to come with a 5-speed manual transmission.
The new 2017 Chevrolet Beat will be priced from Rs 4 lakh onwards for the base petrol version and approximately Rs 4.75 lakh onwards for the base diesel version. It will compete with cars like the Tata Tiago and Maruti Celerio.
