This is the 2017 Mercedes Benz Vision Maybach 6 Cabriolet Concept and, hold your breath, its not powered by petrol but an electric motor. This 5.7 meter long concept car’s drive system has an output of 750 bhp which means inspite of all that weight, it can accelerate from standstill to 100 in four seconds along with an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.
Shown at the Monterey Car Week between 15-20 August, this two-door two-seater concept pays homage to the glorious “automotive haute couture” of hand-finished, exclusive cabriolets. 24-inch alloys, the extended round ‘boat tail’ at the rear, a never ending bonnet and a brutal yet clutter less front end make this concept one of the prettiest in recent times.
The drive system has a range of almost 500 kilometers along with quick charge facility that gives a range of 100 km in just 5 minutes. Also, power goes to all the four wheels!
The Maybach 6 Cabriolet Concept is also a very clear car. It features touch-only control, intelligent navigation linked to the appointment calendar and even a Concierge function which allows the driver to talk to the concierge like talking to a friend – without using predefined voice commands. This enables full concentration of the tasks of driving.
